Te Pukenga: An innovative approach to vocational education

Today’s policy is the Te Pukenga Code of Conduct. The clause I have chosen to communicate is Clause 3.4 which describes ethical behavior and professional conduct.
As a reminder, the Te Pukenga Code of Conduct is designed to ensure that all staff members work with the highest standards of ethical behavior and professional conduct. The Code sets out the expectations for all staff members, including kaimahi, when it comes to their conduct, behavior, and interactions with each other and with students.
Clause 3.4 states that all staff members must comply with all ethical and professional standards, including maintaining the highest levels of integrity, honesty, and accountability. This means that all kaimahi must act in the best interests of Te Pukenga, its students, and the wider community it serves.
To meet this clause, kaimahi need to consider the following questions:
– How can you ensure that your actions, both inside and outside of work, align with Te Pukenga’s values and principles?
– What steps can you take to ensure that your behavior is always honest, transparent, and accountable?
– How do you maintain the highest levels of professionalism and ethical behavior, even in challenging situations?
By answering these questions, kaimahi can ensure that they are meeting the expectations set out by the Code of Conduct, and are working towards delivering the best outcomes for Te Pukenga and its students.
