Week 1 – Code of Practice Introduction

If you’re working in a tertiary institute, it’s important to be aware of the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students. This code sets out the minimum standards for the care of international students in New Zealand.

As a staff member of a tertiary institute, you have a responsibility to ensure you’re meeting these standards to the best of your ability.

Prompt: Familiarize yourself with the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students and refer to it regularly. Make sure you understand the obligations outlined in the code and the ways in which your institution is meeting these obligations.
